Horrors in the Mist
the Gorgon's Head
This bawdy, loud and unruly drinking den was formerly known as “the Queen’s Head”. The the new owner, Mr Pimms, bought the establishment six years ago and immediately decided to change the name to the more appealing “the Gorgon’s Head”, achieving immediate success.
The building that houses the Gorgon’s Head is an old and mossy warehouse on the old wharf of the docks. The public house has a small and dirty entrance on one side of the building. The interior is characterised by a low and smoky ceiling, poor lighting and a characteristic, strong smell derived from a melange of fish, stale beer, vomit and blood.
The place is held as an unbridled cesspits of immorality and crime and the source of much ill-health and alcoholism among the dock workers. The beer is cheap, the gin is infamous, the company is lively and merry and almost every night the pub closes with a brawl. If you are trying to hire the right man for a shady business or if you are simply trying to get mugged this is the right place where to be.
